Alan at Abba Motorcycle Equipment has successfully straightened the frame.
To do this, he fitted the rear wheel into the frame and put it on the jig to see how much out of alignment it was before straightening it back true.
As mentioned before, the main frame was ok but the subframe had been knocked out about an inch out of alignment.
To do this sort of damage, Alan reckons it likely that the bike had done a complete flip and landed on the corner of the subframe.
I hadn't seen a jig before so didn't know what to expect and have included some pictures of what it looks like below.
The bike pictured in the jig isn't mine - it is a 1907 twin cylinder Norton.
Ridden by Rem Fowler, this was the bike that won the first ever Isle of Man TT race. It is so special that it usually resides in the National Motorcycle Museum.
An interesting article about this very bike was recently published in the Daily Telegraph.

Hi Johann,
Thanks for the info. I tried 4 or 5 times last week (during the day) Perhaps they were closed for some reason.
I will try again tomorrow.
By the way, I have been using TMS of Nottingham for parts. Very good and lots of knowledge. Have a look here for their parts list

Hi Seamus,
Thanks for posting on my website - it's always good to get feedback.
The only number I have for Alan is the one on his website at www.abbastands.co.uk
I'm not sure when you've tried phoning him, but it is a proper business open Monday to Friday (I'm not sure about Saturdays). So if you've tried outside normal business hours I'm not sure whether there would be an answer.
Hope this helps - do let me know how you get on.

Hi Johann
I have posted a reply on the Bonnie site. Do you have a contact number for Alan? The numbers on the website just ring out.
I need to get my main frame re aligned, and Essex is a close as anywhere else.
Interesting reading the rest of your project. I am going down a similar road at the moment. I had the frame powder coated and built up with forks, swinging arm etc till I found the motor would not line up with the mounts.
Keep the articles coming.
Cheers
Seamus
